Community Table

WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY TABLE?

The Community Table is the Centre for Excellence of Pensacola’s food subsidy program. Our goal is not to provide families with groceries every month, but rather help subsidize families grocery budgets by provide meat, vegetables, fruit, etc. helping fight hunger in our community. Through this program we seek to engage our community in a new way while helping provide for basic needs that have been brought to our attention in the last two years.

Many families find themselves in new positions of need with the current state of our economy. The elderly, those on fixed incomes, single parent homes, and families of all sizes are finding it a struggle to put food on the table after all bills are paid. For many of these families this is their first time being in need and navigating the unknown of when your children, or yourself, will be able to eat the next meal.

This is exactly why The Centre for Excellence of Pensacola teamed up with Feeding the Gulf Coast, in an effort to help give a hand up to families in our community.

HOW IT WORKS

The Community Table is beginning by feeding 50 families a week through our location at 6847 W. Fairfield Drive, with the goal of ever expanding to meet the needs in our community. Through partnerships with other agencies we are looking to give a hand up to families in need. Families will sign up and be assigned a week, a day and time for their food pick up. Family information will be taken for the household and a valid ID must be present for each person receiving a box of food. Friends cannot pick up boxes for neighbors.
